Pool construction
Building a pool is more than just a construction project—it’s about creating a personal oasis tailored to your lifestyle and space. At Obelix The Pool Doctor, we combine expertise, creativity, and high-quality materials to turn your vision into reality. Whether you’re looking for a sleek, modern design or a family-friendly retreat, our process ensures every detail is executed with precision and care. From the initial consultation to the final handover, we’re committed to delivering a pool that not only meets but exceeds your expectations.
Consultation and Site Assessment
The first step is understanding your vision. This involves discussing your preferences, including the size, shape, and design of the pool, as well as any additional features you’d like (such as lighting or water features). A site visit is conducted to evaluate the area, check for potential challenges (like soil conditions or accessibility), and determine the best placement for the pool. Based on this, you’ll receive a quote tailored to your budget and requirements.
Design and Planning
Once the consultation is complete, the design phase begins. During this stage, materials, tiles, and finishes are chosen, and optional features are integrated into the design. A timeline for the project is also finalized, and all necessary approvals or permits are obtained.
Excavation and Groundwork
The physical construction starts with excavation. The site is carefully dug to match the pool's specifications. Ground preparation includes installing the necessary plumbing and laying the foundation to ensure the pool's structural integrity. Proper drainage systems may also be put in place to prevent future issues.
Pool Shell Construction
The pool shell is then constructed. For concrete pools, this involves pouring and shaping the concrete to create a sturdy base. If you’ve opted for a fiberglass pool, the pre-fabricated shell is delivered to the site and positioned carefully. Both methods ensure durability and longevity.
Installation of Features
Once the shell is complete, the functional and aesthetic elements of the pool are installed. These include:
Finishing Touches
This step is where the pool truly comes to life. The finishing layer is added, such as plaster, tiles, or other surface materials, ensuring both beauty and functionality. Surrounding landscaping, decking, or paving may also be completed at this stage to complement the pool.
Testing and Handover
TAfter construction is complete, all systems are thoroughly tested to ensure everything works perfectly. This includes checking water circulation, filtration, and any additional features. Once satisfied, the pool is handed over to you, along with instructions for use and maintenance. At this point, you can also choose to sign up for ongoing servicing to keep your pool in top condition.
This entire process typically takes 4 - 6 weeks, though timelines can vary depending on the complexity and size of the pool. Throughout, communication with the client remains a priority to ensure expectations are met and the final result matches your vision.
